Cadillac SRX 2012

Cadillac SRX 2012 hits dealerships next month, and although the majority of its new model year updates are small, there's big news under the hood. General Motors has decided to ditch both its 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V6 and 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 in favor of the automaker's more powerful 3.6-liter V6, an engine found in a variety of applications throughout GM's portfolio.

A new, more powerful 3.6L V-6 headlines the changes for 2012 and becomes the sole engine offered in the SRX. It is rated at 308 horsepower (230 kW) with efficiency-enhancing features including direct injection and continuously variable valve timing. It also delivers 265 lb.-ft. of torque (359 Nm), with peak torque achieved at a low 2,400 rpm and continuing through 5,300 rpm, giving the SRX a greater feeling of acceleration from a standstill, at low speeds and when passing. The 3.6L is also E85 ethanol-capable.

GMC Terrain Denali 2013

GMC Terrain Denali 2013 Designed to be one of the most luxurious crossovers in its segment, the model is distinguished by a chrome grille, body color accents and restyled lighting units. There's also a chromed exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers on V6 models). The cabin is nicely equipped with leather seats, mahogany wood trim and a touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlights include a soft-touch instrument panel and illuminated front sill plates.

Under the hood, two engines are available. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder produces 182 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 172 lb-ft (233 Nm) of torque, while the 3.6-liter V6 develops 301 hp (224 kW / 305 PS) and 272 lb-ft (369 Nm) of torque. Both are connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which can be backed up by an optional all-wheel drive system.
